A REVIEW ON THE IMPACT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY ON AGRICULTURE, MEDICINE, INDUSTRIES AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
Biotechnology utilizes living organisms to create new products that are intended to improve human health, agriculture and the environment. Biotechnology has been applied from ancient times till date, and it has made significant strides in recent years in agriculture, medicine, environment and industries. The objective of this article is to carry out a critical review on the impact of biotechnology in agriculture, medicine, industries, and the environment using standard procedures. The types and innovations of biotechnology are also discussed in this paper. Innovations in biotechnology include targeted therapies, drug development, gene editing, biofuels, bioremediation and immunotherapy. Biotechnology has helped in the production of valuable products such as pest resistant plants, hybrid livestock, vaccines, insulin, antibiotics, biogas, biofertilizers, and biopesticides.
