About the Journal

The NABDA Journal of Biotechnology Research (NJBR, ISSN: 1119-0531) is an open-access international Journal that provides free, unlimited access to abstracts and full-text articles, ensuring research is readily available to all. NJBR is dedicated to promoting and disseminating research findings in biotechnology utilisation and development. We prioritise original research that not only contributes to the scientific community but also addresses real-world challenges. Authors are encouraged to highlight how their work can be applied to solve pressing issues such as food security, job and wealth creation, affordable healthcare delivery, and sustainable environmental practices. Although primarily devoted to original research papers, NJBR welcomes reviews on current topics of special interest and relevance (food security, job and wealth creation, affordable healthcare delivery, and sustainable environment). All manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer review and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other Journal. The rigorous double-blind peer-review process ensures that all manuscripts are evaluated by experts in their respective fields, thereby maintaining high standards of quality and integrity. Accepted articles are published online promptly, with at least two issues released each year. The typical duration from submission to publication is approximately 12 weeks. We invite researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in biotechnology to contribute to NJBR and be part of a platform that drives meaningful advancements in the field.

About the Bioresources Development Conference 2026

The Bioresources Development Conference 2026 (BDC26) was convened at the Bioresources Development Centre (BIODEC), Odi, Bayelsa State, as a strategic platform for advancing the sustainable development, utilization and commercialization of Nigeria’s rich and diverse bioresources. The conference brought together researchers, scientists, academics, policymakers, government representatives, entrepreneurs, industry practitioners and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share research findings and foster collaborations aimed at harnessing Nigeria’s bioresources for sustainable national development.

This edition of the NABDA Journal of Biotechnology Research features selected scientific papers from BDC26 Conference under the sub-theme, “Agricultural Biotechnology for Sustainable National Development.” The papers showcase research, innovations and emerging applications of agricultural biotechnology with potential to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen food and nutritional security, promote sustainable agricultural practices, enhance value addition and contribute to economic development. They also underscore the importance of collaboration, technology transfer and the responsible application of biotechnology in building a productive, resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.
