About the Journal

The NABDA Journal of Biotechnology Research (NJBR), ISSN: 1119-0531, is an open-access international Journal that provides free, unlimited access to abstracts and full-text articles, ensuring research is readily available to all. NJBR is dedicated to promoting and disseminating research findings in biotechnology utilisation and development. We prioritise original research that not only contributes to the scientific community but also addresses real-world challenges. Authors are encouraged to highlight how their work can be applied to solve pressing issues such as food security, job and wealth creation, affordable healthcare delivery, and sustainable environmental practices. Although primarily devoted to original research papers, NJBR welcomes reviews on current topics of special interest and relevance (food security, job and wealth creation, affordable healthcare delivery, and sustainable environment). All manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer review and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other Journal. The rigorous double-blind peer-review process ensures that all manuscripts are evaluated by experts in their respective fields, thereby maintaining high standards of quality and integrity. Accepted articles are published online promptly, with at least two issues released each year. The typical duration from submission to publication is approximately 12 weeks. We invite researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in biotechnology to contribute to NJBR and be part of a platform that drives meaningful advancements in the field.

The Bioresources Development Conference 2026 (BDC26) took place at the Bioresources Development Centre (BIODEC) in Odi, Bayelsa State. The theme of the conference was "Advancing the Sustainable Development and Utilization of Nigeria's Rich Bioresources Through Research, Innovation, and Biotechnology." The event provided a platform for researchers, policymakers, industry practitioners, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to share knowledge, showcase research findings, and explore opportunities for translating bioresource-based research into innovative products, services, and solutions.

BDC26 also emphasized the importance of collaboration, capacity building, and sustainable bioresource management in promoting economic development, environmental sustainability, and improved livelihoods in Nigeria. The BDC26 Conference Proceedings document the scientific contributions, ideas, innovations, and perspectives presented at the conference, serving as a valuable reference for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders interested in the development and sustainable utilization of Nigeria's bioresources. This issue includes presentations focused on Agricultural Biotechnology for Sustainable National Development.
